The Brief
Position the Bundesliga as a leading international football platform in China. Help to boost the clubs reputation and reach. Cultivate a fan culture within the Chinese communities and transport the unique football experience in Germany to China.
The Implementation
We are currently operating the Bundesliga accounts across four different accounts: Douyin, Weibo, Bilibili and WeChat. Each platform offers a distinct purpose to reach a different target audience. While Douyin reaches the masses, is WeChat our official mouthpiece and targeting hardcore fans. Weibo is engaging our fans on a day-to-day basis. We create the platform for the clubs to engage with one another on- and offline to build an overarching Bundesliga culture in China.
The Results
While competition is fierce, especially on the pitch, there’s no league where clubs operate as closely together as the Bundesliga with 6 clubs having an office in China Mainland and almost weekly joint offline events between them. We offer a distinct community culture and look and feel online. The Bundesliga is especially popular amongst young female football fans.
